Polyurethane Dispersions

 WATER-BORNE POLYURETHANE DISPERSIONS

Waterborne Polyurethane Dispersions (PUDs) are coatings that use water as the primary solvent. With increasing regulation on the amount of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) that can be emitted into the atmosphere, PUDs are being used in many applications. Compared to regular acrylic emulsions, PUDs offer more shine, water-resistance and weatherability, non-yellowing character and great adhesion.

  • PUTHANE TS 8290: Aliphatic Aqueous Polyurethane Top

    • Solid Content (%): 29 ± 2

  • PUTHANE TS 8359: Aliphatic Aqueous Polyurethane Top

    • Solid Content (%): 35 ± 1

  • PUTHANE 8353: Polyurethane Dispersion for Surface Coating

    • Solid Content (%): 35 ± 2

THERMOSETTING ACRYLATES (ACRYLIC POLYOLS)

Thermosetting Acrylates

Thermosetting Acrylates or Acrylic polyols represent a special group of amorphous polyols, obtained by radical copolymerisation of acrylic monomers such as acrylic or methacrylic acids and esters. The source of hydroxyl groups in these acrylic polyols is the utilization in the radical copolymerisation reaction of hydroxyalkyl acrylates or hydroxyalkyl methacrylates as comonomers. The acrylic polyols are used in high-performance polyurethane (PU) coatings mainly for automotive and marine coatings.

C&E offers a range of high performance, high solids and low VOC acrylic polyols. specialty chemical manufatcurer

THERMOPLASTIC ACRYLATES

Thermoplastic Acrylates

Thermoplastic Acrylic Resins comprise multiple chains of polymers without any cross-linking or reactive groups. High molecular weight polymers are therefore often used to improve interactions between different polymer chains. These resins are soft and are reshaped with increasing temperature.

THICKENERS, EMULSIONS AND DISPERSING AGENTS

Dispersing Agents

Acrylic thickeners are the copolymers of acrylic esters and acids and effectively swell in an alkaline medium. These are used to thicken the paint formulations without substantially affecting the properties of the paint. These thickeners are also used in textile pigment printing and carpet back coating applications.

Acrylic dispersing agents are the salts of polymethacrylic acid and are effective suspending agents for inorganic fillers like titanium dioxide and calcium carbonate. These are universally used in paint formulations where fillers are present in large concentration. They are also used in clay coating formulations and printing inks.
